South Fork Boise River flows across the northern reaches of this territory, carving a canyon through the Sawtooth National Forest. This remote portion of Elmore County is defined by the high ridges of the Soldier Mountains, where the landscape is marked by a complex network of seasonal drainages and forest access paths. The interior is largely roadless, save for rugged routes like Jetta's Ln and the Grouse Creek Rd, which provide access to the high ground around Grouse Butte.
