The Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area and its shoreline form the northeastern corner of this arid Wyoming landscape. This 1987 provisional survey captures the intersection of water and desert infrastructure, where the Flaming Gorge Reservoir meets the high plains. Industrial activity is evident in the Radio Pumping Station Tower and the extensive Pipeline corridors that cut across the terrain. These features, along with a network of 4wd tracks, speak to the energy development and resource management defining Sweetwater County during the late 20th century.
