About this map

Minnechoag Mountain and a series of prominent peaks including Rattlesnake Peak and Mt Vision dominate this 1944 topography of the Massachusetts-Connecticut borderlands. The settlement of Hampden sits at the center of a complex network of brooks and rivers, most notably the Scantic River and the three branches of the Mill River. To the west, Baptist Village and Sixteen Acres show the established residential patterns of the mid-1940s, while the southern portion reaches into Stafford and North Somers, Connecticut.
