Sauceda Mountains peaks define the northern reach of this desert quadrangle, where the terrain drops away into the drainage network of the Midway Wash. This 2014 survey documents a transition point along the county line where Maricopa Co and Pima Co meet. The landscape is dominated by complex contour work showing the high ridges and steep canyons characteristic of this portion of the Sonoran Desert. Human presence is indicated primarily by water management features such as Javelina Tank, essential for sustaining livestock or wildlife in an arid environment otherwise defined by its seasonal desert washes and remote topography.
