Caribou National Forest dominates much of this high-elevation landscape where the Portneuf Range meets the Fish Creek Range in eastern Idaho. The topography is defined by a dense network of canyons and gulches, including the complex drainage systems of North Fork Reed Canyon and Kelly Gulch. The small settlement of Pebble sits along the Portneuf River in the northeastern corner, marking a point where the river parallels Old Hwy 30.
