Hillsboro and Adgateville anchor this 2020 map of the central Georgia landscape, where the public lands of the Oconee National Forest meet the southern reaches of the Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge. The terrain is deeply carved by a network of drainage systems, including Stalking Head Cr and Falling Creek, which flow through the forested hills. The boundary between Jasper Co and Jones Co cuts across the southern portion of the sheet, dividing the wildlife refuge and the Piedmont Wildlife Lake from the northern forest lands.
