Osceola and Hogum occupy the high eastern slopes of the Snake Range, where the terrain drops sharply toward the expanse of Spring Valley. This 2014 survey documents a landscape defined by dramatic elevation changes, with Pilot Knob Ridge separating a series of deep drainage features such as Grub Gulch, Jacks Gulch, and Mary Ann Canyon. To the south, the boundary of the Humboldt National Forest encompasses the headwaters of Willard Cr and Shingle Cr.
