Holcomb serves as the primary hub in this region of northern Mississippi, situated just south of where the Yalobusha River winds through the landscape. The settlement is defined by a traditional grid including Main St, Toscohoma St, and Williams St. Evidence of early community life is scattered throughout the surrounding hills and creek bottoms, particularly in the numerous family and community burial grounds such as Tascohomo Cem and Trimbell Cem.
