The Coteau des Prairies plateau defines the landscape of this region on the border of Kingsbury and Miner counties. At the heart of this rural prairie landscape lies the Cloverleaf Colony, a communal settlement accompanied by the Cloverleaf Colony Cem. The topography is marked by the meandering path of the W Fork Vermillion River, which flows southward through the center of the sheet, and Rock Cr in the northwest corner. This 2017 survey reflects the persistent grid of section-line roads such as 217th St and 430th Ave, typical of South Dakota's agricultural heartland. Transportation and utility are further noted by the presence of Lee Airport situated near the western boundary, serving this remote corner of the glacial upland.
