The Huachuca Mountains dominate this high-altitude landscape along the border of Santa Cruz and Cochise counties. Within the expansive Coronado National Forest, the small settlement of Sunnyside and the nearby Sunnyside Cem represent the primary human imprint in a terrain defined by dramatic peaks and deep canyons. Prominent summits including Huachuca Peak, Lyle Peak, and Peterson Peak overlook a network of seasonal drainages such as Garden Canyon and Parker Canyon.
