The small community of Hub serves as a central anchor for this agricultural portion of the High Plains in Parmer County. Surveyed in 2016, the landscape is defined by a rigorous cardinal grid of rural roads, including Co Rd 17, Co Rd 19, and Co Rd 23, which partition the territory into large-scale cultivation blocks. Scattered across these fields are numerous playa lakes, shown here as depressions that serve as vital catchments for the region's limited precipitation. This topography reflects the intensive land use of the Texas Panhandle, where transport corridors like Fm 2397 and Ranch Rd 3140 connect isolated farmsteads and agricultural facilities to the primary settlement. The geometry of the road network, from Co Rd I in the north to Co Rd Q in the south, illustrates a late-20th-century system of rural infrastructure designed for modern industrial farming.
