The borough of Hughesville occupies the northwestern corner of this study, positioned where Muncy Creek meets the confluence of Gregs Run and Sugar Run. This 2010 landscape is defined by the complex drainage of the Muncy Hills, where numerous named hollows and ridges dictate the rural road network. To the south and east, the small communities of Moreland, Clarkstown, and Frenchtown serve as anchors for a region historically tied to the waterways of Little Muncy Creek and Laurel Run.
