Hurricane Hill dominates the center of this remote borderland, where the international boundary between the United States and Canada is clearly delineated. The terrain is defined by a dense network of waterways feeding into the Norris Brook system, including the S Br Norris Brook and Middle Br Norris Brook. In the southern portion of the quadrangle, Dole Pond and its associated Dole Brook drain the landscape, while the northwestern corner is marked by Little Saint John Lake. Industrial and recreational access to this timber-heavy region is shown through a series of thoroughfares such as Golden Rd and Pole Pond Rd, which cut through the drainage basins of Hurricane Brook and Roberts Brook. This survey illustrates the modern management of a vast hydrological network within a largely uninhabited forest environment along the Maine border.
