The Clark Fork river snakes through a narrow corridor between high peaks in this 2014 survey of the Lolo National Forest. The small settlement of Iris sits along the northern rail and road corridor, supported by the proximity of the Rock Creek Airport and Stage Station Rd. The topography is defined by a series of deep drainages including Moe Gulch, Rickard Gulch, and Kitchen Gulch that feed into the larger valley systems.
