The Island Park Dam controls the vast waters of the Island Park Reservoir in this high-altitude landscape of Fremont County. The terrain is defined by the massive Island Park Caldera and the towering Eastern Centennial Mountains to the north. Water dominates the geography, with the Henrys Fork river winding through the center, transitioning from the turbulent Coffee Pot Rapids into the reservoir and southward through Box Canyon.
