Jacks Landing and the surrounding glacial lake country are defined by a complex network of wetlands and recreational sites in Grand Traverse County. The terrain is dominated by the Boardman River system, including the confluence of the North Branch Boardman River and South Branch Boardman River. This area serves as a significant recreational hub, evidenced by Camp Greilick on the shores of Rennie Lake and the Forks State Forest Campground situated near the river forks. A dense concentration of smaller water bodies such as Muncie Lake, Island Lake, and Spider Lake illustrates the kettle-lake topography of the region. The map also captures local nomenclature for geographical turns, such as Devils Elbow, and highlights managed water features like the Brown Bridge Pond along the southern edge of the quadrangle.
