2019 Map of Jasper

USGS Topo · Published 2019

About this map

Jasper and Sherman anchor this 2019 survey of the prairie landscape spanning the border between Minnesota and South Dakota. The terrain is defined by the Coteau des Prairies, a high glacial plateau that shapes the local hydrology. Split Rock Creek winds southward through the center of the sheet, joined by Pipestone Cr near the Minnesota-South Dakota state line. This drainage system was critical for early settlement and agriculture in the region.
