Johnson Ranch sits at the center of this landscape in southern Albany County, where the high plains meet the rising slopes of Boulder Ridge. The terrain is defined by a dendritic network of seasonal and perennial watercourses, including Antelope Cr and Lone Tree Cr, which flow toward Lone Tree Reservoir in the northern part of the quadrangle. To the northeast, Sportsman Lake serves as a distinct landmark near the county line.
