Strait of Juan de Fuca waters define the northern reaches of this coastal survey, where the international boundary between Washington and Canada runs through the open sea. Along the shoreline, the community of Port Crescent and the more inland settlement of Joyce anchor the local road network, which includes Wa-112 and Agate Beach Rd. The landscape rises sharply from the coast toward Striped Peak, a prominent elevation topped by the Striped Peak Lookout Tower.
