Junction City and Milladore anchor this central Wisconsin landscape at the border of Wood and Portage counties. The area is defined by a dense network of country roads and the critical path of the Union Pacific Railroad, which cuts across the northern half of the quadrangle. Local history is preserved in several community landmarks, including Saint Michael's Cemetery and Saint Wenceslaus Cemetery.

The terrain is a mix of agricultural land and expansive wetlands, most notably the Fogarty Marsh in the east. Numerous small waterways, such as Mill Creek, Hayden Creek, and Bear Creek, drain the low-lying plains. Further south, the settlement of Rudolph and the small rise of Rock Hill provide additional geographic context to this rural township structure, characterized by a grid of named lanes and family-farm access roads.
