About this map

The waters of Lynn Canal and Stephens Passage define this maritime survey of the Alaskan coast northwest of Juneau. The coastal strip is anchored by the Glacier Highway, which provides access to shoreline points like Tee Harbor, Pearl Harbor, and Amalga Harbor. Near the center of the sheet, the long, narrow profile of Shelter Island separates the Saginaw Channel from Favorite Channel. Small-scale maritime activity is evident at Dotsons Landing and the mission site of St Terese. On the Mansfield Peninsula to the southwest, the sheltered inlet of Funter Bay serves as a significant harbor, flanked by Coot Cove and Crab Cove. The map also captures the early recreational footprint of the region at the Auke Village Recreation Area and the utility infrastructure represented by a transmission line and a powerhouse near Lena Cove.
