Juniper Ridge rises above the high-desert landscape of northeastern California, overlooking the vast Madeline Plains to the south. This 2018 survey documents a region defined by its critical water sources, including Etchecopar Spring, Dodge Spring, and Long Spring, which sustain the surrounding seasonal wetlands. The high-altitude plateau character is evident in the transition from Maiden Flat to the more dramatic relief of Dorsey Butte and the drainage of Long Canyon.
