King Mountain and Quartzmill Peak dominate the high-elevation terrain where Douglas, Jackson, and Josephine counties meet. This 2017 survey shows a landscape defined by its complex drainage network and an extensive system of forest access roads, such as King Mtn Rd and Burma Rd. The hydrology of the area is particularly detailed, tracing the headwaters of Grave Creek and Pleasant Creek, along with numerous seasonal water sources including Onion Springs, Mud Springs, and Beck Spring.
