Evidence of rural community life in the late 1940s is preserved in the locations of the Campbell Sch and several family burial grounds, including Foss Hill Cem and Taylor Cem. The prominence of local summits like Bald Mountain and Russell Mtn, the latter featuring a Lookout Tower, indicates a landscape where timber and fire observation remained vital.
