The international border between the United States of America and Estados Unidos Mexicanos defines the southern reach of this 2011 survey. Centered on the La Lesna Mountains, the landscape transitions from the rugged heights of La Lesna Peak into the broad expanse of The Great Plain and the Tecolote Valley. The settlement patterns of the Chukut Kuk District are represented by the small communities of Sivili Chuchg, Ak Komelik, and Tatum Vo, which are scattered across the arid terrain. The drainage network illustrates the complex hydrology of this border region, showing how seasonal water flow moves through the desert valleys and around these isolated outposts of human habitation in the Pima County wilderness.
