Lakeside is the central hub of this coastal landscape, situated where the intricate fingers of Tenmile Lake and North Tenmile Lake meet. The geography is defined by a dense network of freshwater bodies separated from the Pacific Ocean by the dunes of the Siuslaw National Forest. These lakes, including Eel Lake, Clear Lake, and Saunders Lake, are tucked behind the shoreline, creating a unique hydrological environment of arms and sloughs like Blacks Arm and Devore Arm.
