Lakeview serves as the primary hub of this west-central Michigan landscape, situated on the eastern shores of Tamarack Lake. The town's grid is bounded by the Lakeview/Griffith Field to the northeast and is surrounded by a network of agricultural lands and natural drainage systems. The boundary between Mecosta Co and Montcalm Co bisects the northern half of the area along N Co Line Rd, marking a transition between the northern rural townships and the more settled southern reaches.
