Adair Village and the rural reaches of the Willamette Valley anchor this 2017 study of the landscape north of Albany. The terrain is defined by a series of prominent rises including Coffin Butte, Poison Oak Hill, and Hospital Hill, which overlook the complex drainage systems of Soap Cr and Calloway Cr. A network of smaller airfields, such as Flying Tom Airport and Gates Airport, suggests a legacy of local aviation and agricultural utility in this corridor between the foothills and the river plains.
