The Spokane River carves a deep path through this 1970s landscape, demarcating the border between Stevens and Lincoln counties. The central focus is the Little Falls settlement and hydroelectric site, where Plant I and a nearby substation mark the industrial utility of the river's descent. To the west, the river expands into Lake Roosevelt, part of the Coulee Dam National Recreation Area, where the spillway elevation is recorded at 1289 feet.

Away from the water, the terrain rises sharply into prominent landforms such as Sherwood Mtn, Cayuse Mtn, and the long spine of Bald Ridge. A network of deep drainages including Tamarack Canyon and Smeltzer Canyon score the southern uplands, while Chamokane Creek feeds in from the northeast. Local infrastructure is sparse, characterized by the Little Falls West Base Campground, a Lookout Tower, and several springs that supported the area's remote homesteads and recreation sites.
