Little Summit Prairie forms the central landscape of this high-elevation plateau within the Ochoco National Forest. The 2017 survey reveals a complex hydrological network defined by numerous springs and small reservoirs that supported the regional timber and ranching industries. Prominent landmarks such as Paulina Butte and Roba Butte rise above the terrain, which is segmented by deep drainages like Hewed Log Hollow and Buck Hollow. The area is interlaced with a dense system of forest development roads, including the Arvid Nelson Rd and S Little Summit Rd, which trace the routes used for land management and resource extraction. Significant water features such as Morgan Reservoir, Timothy Meadow, and Round Meadow illustrate the seasonal nature of the landscape, where water collection was vital for both natural preservation and local economic activities in the high desert back-country.
