The Wind River Range dominates this high-altitude landscape along the border of Shoshone National Forest and Bridger National Forest. The topography is defined by the serrated line of the Continental Divide, which separates the drainages of the South Fork Little Wind River from the tributaries of the Big Sandy. The southwestern corner of the sheet features the iconic Cirque of the Towers, a collection of granite spires including Wolfs Head, Pingora Peak, and War Bonnet Peak. This 2021 survey illustrates an intricate network of backcountry access points, such as the Bear's Ears Trl and Lizard Head Trl, which connect high-country landmarks like Lizard Head Peak and the lush Lizard Head Meadows. Alpine hydrology is documented through numerous glacial catchments, ranging from the large Grave Lake and Washakie Lake to smaller basins like Dutch Oven Lake.
