Lomas Gatos and the surrounding ranchlands of De Baca County are defined by a network of cattle operations and water management features. The high desert landscape is punctuated by the Triangle Ranch and Triangle Cattle Company to the northwest, and the Hall Ranch near the eastern boundary. These operations rely on a series of scattered water sources including Dry Tank, Hopper Tank, and the Twin Tanks.
