Burnt River Canyon carves a deep path through this Baker County landscape, defining the rugged topography that separates the northern uplands from the southern flats. The canyon floor shows evidence of historic resource extraction and water management, with Gravel Pits and irrigation infrastructure like the Chambeam Ditch and Banks Ditch drawing from the Burnt River. To the north, the terrain is marked by essential livestock water sources, including Coyote Waterhole and Kirby Reservoir.
