Isle Royale National Park is defined by a dense archipelago and coastal wilderness along the southern shore of the island. The landscape is characterized by the massive Siskiwit Lake, which drains toward the coast via Siskiwit Falls into the sheltered waters of Malone Bay. This protected harbor is flanked by a complex chain of landforms including Wright Island, Malone Island, and Ross Island.
