Manitou anchors the southwestern portion of this landscape at the border of Kiowa and Tillman counties. The town site, positioned along US Highway 183, shows a clear grid of streets including 2nd St and Base Line Rd, representing the core of this rural Oklahoma community. The surrounding terrain is defined by a complex drainage network feeding into the W Fork Deep Red Cr and Deep Red Cr. This hydrology is heavily managed through a series of artificial impoundments, most notably the Deep Red Run-Coffin Creek Site 1 Reservoir and its companion, Site 2 Reservoir.
