Manitou anchors the southwestern corner of this Oklahoma landscape, where the town's street grid, including Broadway Ave and Durbin Ave, meets the junction of regional section-line roads. The terrain is defined by a dendritic network of drainage systems, most notably Deep Red Creek and its tributaries such as W Fork Deep Red Cr and Coffin Cr. These waterways feed into substantial impoundments, including the large expanse of Lake Frederick and several numbered water bodies like 141019 Reservoir. The agricultural character of the region is evident in the strict grid of rural routes like Baseline Rd and Co RD Ew 167 that cross the county line between Kiowa and Tillman. Local history is preserved at the North Deep Red Cem, situated near the banks of the creek that shares its name.
