Cote Blanche Island rises distinctly above the coastal marsh at the northern edge of this coastal survey. Located along the border of Iberia Parish and St. Mary Parish, this area is defined by the expansive waters of West Cote Blanche Bay and East Cote Blanche Bay. The island itself features a notable Red Bluff on its southern shore, with small local roads such as Luke St and Harry providing access to the elevated terrain. To the east, the shoreline transitions into a complex network of wetlands and inlets including Jaws Bay and Bayou Carlin. Features like Marone Point and the curiously named Point No Point mark the delicate boundary between the Louisiana mainland and the Gulf of Mexico waters, illustrating the character of the region's shifting coastal geomorphology.
