About this map

The Wapsipinicon River meanders across the northern portion of this landscape, forming a natural boundary between Eden and Butler townships. The town of McCausland is situated along its southern banks, protected by an extensive levee system that reflects the hydrological challenges of this river valley. To the south, the terrain rises into the dissected uplands of Princeton and Le Claire townships, where a series of drainages including Lost Creek, McCarty Creek, and Bud Creek cut through the countryside.
