Malhuer National Forest encompasses the entirety of this high-elevation landscape in Grant County, defined by the prominent ridge of the Aldrich Mountains. The geography is anchored by the dual summits of First Peak and Second Peak in the northwest, leading toward the central massif of McClellan Mountain. This terrain is deeply dissected by drainage systems, most notably Murderers Cr and its various tributaries like Charlie Mack Cr and Hikali Cr that carve through the southern half of the quadrangle.
