McConnell Peak and Minerva Peak anchor the topography of the northern Santa Rosa Range, where the high desert terrain of Nevada meets the Oregon border. This 2018 survey illustrates the complex drainage systems of the Humboldt National Forest, defined by the convergence of the E Fork Quinn River and the S Fork Quinn River at the distinctive Devils Gate. The landscape is etched with seasonal waterways including Twomile Cr, Jakes Cr, and Chicken Cr, alongside a network of specialized access roads such as North Rd and the South Fork Quinn Road/Post Cre. These routes and drainages suggest a history of resource management and livestock movement within the remote Nevada-Oregon borderlands.
