McGregor Mountain towers over a landscape defined by the convergence of the North Cascades National Park, the Lake Chelan National Recreation Area, and the Wenatchee National Forest. This high-elevation terrain is bisected by the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail, which winds past Memaloose Ridge and through several drainages including Bridge Cr and Junction Cr. In the southern portion of the sheet, the Stehekin River flows through a deep valley alongside the Stehekin Valley Rd, where the Tumwater Bridge provides a crossing near the dramatic Agnes Gorge. The map documents a complex hydrological network of alpine lakes and glacial creeks, such as Howard Lake, Waddell Lake, and Agnes Cr, all of which feed into the primary river systems of this protected wilderness area.
