McKonkey Creek and its neighboring drainages flow through this sparsely populated stretch of the Montana plains along the border of Rosebud and Treasure Counties. The terrain is characterized by the distinct erosional features of the high prairie, most notably at Bone Coulee, where seasonal runoff has carved deep paths through the landscape. This 2014 survey documents the enduring physical geography of the region, where the drainage patterns of Willow Creek and Muggins Creek dictate the layout of the local transport network. Significant local routes like the Ingomar Hysham Rd and Ingomar Rd traverse the northern and eastern reaches of the quadrangle, following the natural contours of the land and providing the primary connectivity between the remote ranchlands of the Rosebud and Treasure county line.
