The boundary between Waseca and Steele Counties divides this landscape of agricultural plots and glacial water bodies. The eastern edge of Waseca anchors the western side of the sheet, where residential streets meet the shores of Clear Lake and Rice Lake. Moving east toward the smaller settlement of Meriden, the terrain is defined by a dense network of township roads and drainage systems, including Crane Creek and Goose Lake. Local heritage is anchored by several rural burial grounds that speak to the area's pioneer roots, such as Karsten Cem, Woodville Cem, and Saint Paul's Lutheran Cem. To the south, the headwaters of the Little Le Sueur River meander through low-lying wetlands, illustrating the transition between the developed town infrastructure and the surrounding prairie-turned-farmland.
