Milford serves as the primary population center on this high-desert landscape, situated where the Beaver River and Hickory Wash intersect the eastern flats. The town's grid is well-defined by streets such as W Center St and S Main St, leading south toward the Milford City Cem. North of the town, the Milford Municipal Airport/Ben and Judy Briscoe Field marks a significant local transportation hub near the agricultural basin of Beaver Bottoms.

The surrounding terrain of the Escalante Desert is punctuated by several prominent geological formations. The Rocky Range dominates the central portion of the map, while the Beaver Lake Mountains rise to the northwest and the Star Range sits to the southwest. Water management in this arid region is evidenced by the West Point Reservoir and Lower Big Wash Reservoir, along with the small settlement of Blueacre on the northwestern edge of the valley floor.
