The map traces the industrial infrastructure of the era, most notably the Hetch Hetchy Aqueduct as it traverses the steep terrain near the Moccasin Powerhouse. This hydroelectric and water transport system is a central feature, alongside smaller municipal works like the Moccasin Res and Priest Reservoir.

Evidence of the region's gold mining legacy is scattered across the hillsides, with the Clio Mine, Harriman Mine, and McAlpine Mine situated near the banks of the Tuolumne River.
