The Colorado River Indian Reservation dominates the landscape of this 1955 survey, showing the intricate network of the Parker Valley irrigation system. The presence of the Main Drain, Lateral, and various levee systems illustrates the massive effort to manage the Colorado River for agriculture. To the east, the terrain shifts abruptly as the valley floor meets the base of the Dome Rock Mountains.

Mineral exploration is evidenced by the Adams Mine and Mammoth Mine situated in the high ground north of Tyson Wash.
