The Colorado River Indian Reservation dominates the western portion of this landscape, spanning the border between Riverside County, California and Yuma County, Arizona. Surveyed between 1927 and 1931, the topography reveals a stark contrast between the alluvial flats of the Colorado River and the uplifted Dome Rock Mountains to the east.

Mineral extraction is recorded through the presence of the Valenzuela Mine and the Mammoth Mine, both situated within the rugged interior of the range. The eastern portion of the sheet opens into the La Posa Plain, where drainage patterns like Tyson Wash define the desert floor. This 1932 edition preserves the pre-war territorial character of the region, showing the land as it existed before significant mid-century desert developments altered the Arizona-California borderlands.
