About this map

Moonshine Hill rises above the confluence of the San Jacinto River and its East Fork during the early Texas oil boom era. This survey, conducted in cooperation with W. H. Ward and the Harris County Commissioners, captures the complex hydrological landscape of the coastal plain before extensive modern development. The terrain is defined by a network of drainage features like Cobb Gully and Rockpool Gully that feed into the river systems, alongside numerous small water bodies such as Blue Lake, Horseshoe Lake, and League Ponds.
