Mount Edna rises as a prominent landmark in this sparsely settled portion of Sioux County during the late 1970s. The landscape is defined by vast open spaces and high plains topography, punctuated by a network of isolated water sources labeled simply as well. In the northeastern section of the sheet, the small settlement of Royville sits near a broad topographical feature known as the Flat. The mapping reveals a rural economy dependent on these scattered water points and a structured grid of unimproved roads and section lines. This document preserves the spatial arrangement of a remote Nebraska grazing or agricultural district before modern infrastructure significantly altered the character of the High Plains.
