Mt Everly and the surrounding high peaks of the Boise National Forest dominate this landscape where the headwaters of the Boise and Payette rivers originate. The topography is defined by the continental divide between the Middle Fork Boise River and the S Fork Payette River, creating a complex network of glacial cirques and alpine basins. High-altitude lakes are a prominent feature of this 2017 survey, including the clustered Spangle Lakes, Ardeth Lake, and the remote Tenlake Basin. Geological landmarks like The Rakers, Plummer Peak, and Glens Peak create a jagged horizon across the Elmore and Boise county line. The drainage patterns of Benedict Cr and Queens River illustrate the steep vertical relief of this wilderness area, which remains largely untouched by development, focusing instead on the preservation of these critical watersheds and peaks like Blizzard Mtn.
